Sprouting from a small agricultural community in Idaho in the early 90s, Williams progressed from a self-taught snowboarder using makeshift equipment to a dedicated backcountry athlete. His career eventually shifted to full-time professional roles in the action sports industry, working behind-the-scenes as the graphic designer for Burton Snowboards’ Analog brand, artist management positions at éS Skateboarding and Altamont, brand management for Fallen, and global creative direction for DVS. Prior to this, he also founded his own snowboard company which he operated alongside pro snowboarders Kevin Jones and Rob Kingwill.

Williams’ career trajectory reflects and laments the evolution of boardsports culture from its grassroots origins to mainstream marketing and spans product design, brand management, and creative direction for top outdoor industry brands.

“I very much respect Kelly’s vision for design and product development, and the true dedication he brings to every project.”

“Rather than an exit from something else,
snowboarding is really an entrance…
You’re in tune with your position within the environment…
It seems to be all lined up where it should be.”
